This Privacy Policy explains how PlainPrivacy handles information when you visit plainprivacy.org, download a resource, or contact us about a technical privacy audit. PlainPrivacy provides technical privacy, consent, tracking and analytics implementation services and does not provide legal advice.
Information you provide
If you request the free checklist, we collect the business email address you submit. If you request an audit, we collect the information entered in the form, which may include your first and last name, business email, company name, website URL, website platform and any message you choose to provide.
Information collected through the website
PlainPrivacy uses Termly to manage cookie and consent preferences. Where analytics consent is provided, Google Analytics 4 may collect usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser information and interaction data. Our hosting and form infrastructure may also process technical request information needed to deliver, secure and operate the website. When the free privacy scanner is used, PlainPrivacy records the normalized website hostname submitted for scanning (for example, example.com), the scan timestamp, completion status and scan duration for service analytics, troubleshooting and abuse monitoring. The scanner does not intentionally retain the full submitted URL, URL query string, or complete scan result in these analytics logs.
How we use information
We use submitted information to provide requested downloads, review and respond to audit enquiries, communicate about requested services, operate and protect the website, maintain consent preferences, and understand website usage where analytics consent has been given.
Service providers
The website currently relies on third-party services that may process information on our behalf, including Netlify for website hosting and form submissions, Termly for consent management, and Google Analytics for consent-based website analytics. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy documentation.
Cookies and consent
